Cousin fun

Sydney's 3rd Birthday

A family filled weekend for Sydney's birthday. Nana Sheila, Papa Guitar, 'Nina', Jake and Shya were a part of the festivities.  AJ, Kelly and kids were in town and were able to visit at brunch.  Papa Beard, Nana Mary, Aunt Jen, Justis and Zoe (aka Cloe because Sydney kept mixing up her name with the neighbor girl) flew in for a long weekend visit.

Sydney was so excited her birthday was finally here! She's waited and waited through Colin's, Mommy's, and Daddy's birthdays.  Now, she can turn her car seat forward, she's in underwear, and we changed her crib to a toddler/big girl bed. (Of course, she kept getting out wanting to see what we were up to.)

We sang two times and had her blow out candles twice. The first cake was a left over from Papa Guitar's retirement party -notice the circa 1980s cake image! Pink cupcakes were a little late in the making but in time for the afternoon affair.

Colin did a great job reading her the birthday cards as she torn into the gifts.

Making Pancakes

Hammmm...

Fabulous Easter brunch with Nana, Papa, "Nina", Jake & Shya.

Which one's the ham?

And, then the hunt begins. We think all of the eggs were found. If not, the gopher will enjoy some jelly beans.

Bunny Ears

CP and Syd enjoyed two Easter egg hunts. Colin especially enjoyed the ears.

And, the sugar kicks in...

Easter Eggs

Avoided a potential dye-saster having a not-quite three year old help with dying Easter eggs.

Dentist

This was Sydney's first visit. Colin was a great big brother as Sydney watched him get his teeth cleaned. She was eager to jump in the chair when Colin got his pick of a toothbrush and a toy. She did freak out a little at the water squirt and suction nozzle.

The hygienist did a great job of explaining the process to Sydney, letting her touch the tools and smell the toothpaste.

Colin's extra baby tooth is falling into place nicely, and the dentist said she could remove it at the office. This could be cheaper than the oral surgeon we've been consulting. Hmm...
No cavities for either kid!
