Middle School Fall Play

 A lot of drama around the fall play, Narnia. Syd was Ulf, one of the wolf captains of the witch. It was challenging as first, but she did a great job morphing into this role after playing comedic roles in past productions. 

A Flurry of College Visits

Bill, Colin and I did a weekend of whirlwind campus tours in Cincinnati and Columbus. We toured University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami of Ohio, OWU and Ohio State. Sunday was spent driving around the old 'hood and meeting up with friends for brunch. 

In Cinci, we stopped by Gretchen and Stephen's for dinner and had fun with cousins and Legos. 

While at OSU, we nabbed tickets to the OSU v UCLA game and 

enjoyed the beat down on a warm fall night.

Last Fall Band Concert for CP

 A very good concert from the high school concert band. Colin was all over the place changing percussion instruments. 

Happy Halloween

 Syd treated with some gal pals in the rain. Colin and Emily went as Darth Maul and Darth Talon to a party at Dreyer's house. They had the whole yard set up with a maze and spooky decor.

Pumpkin Time

 Evening spent eating chili, carving pumpkins, prepping pumpkin seeds, and DJing spooking season songs.

University of St. Thomas campus tour

 The initial two comments we pulled from Colin during the tour were, "There's a lot of Jesus around here," and, "I don't look good in purple," in response to the university tag line You Look Good in Purple. Hahaha. It was a very pretty day to tour a campus. We'll see if he wants to continue to look at UST. 

HOCO and Dance

 Colin convinced all of his friends that they had to go to Homecoming because this is their senior year. Happily, they agreed. 

The ask theme was the Nightmare Before Christmas.

HOCO Football Game

 It was the game everyone was planning to go to. Syd and Colin were sending us updates about the offence back and forth with a final end of game EP victory. Syd spent the first half of the game explaining what was going on on the field. 

The game was a White Out. 

NDSU Campus Tour

 Drove to visit the NDSU campus. Wow, that was a long drive! A very friendly atmosphere even for a drizzly, rainy day. We had time to stop by the OG Scheels and take Colin's pic with the Lego Bison. 

A "Last" First Day of School

 Colin was up and out the door for Senior Sunrise at the high school. The seniors gather in the stadium to watch the sun rise before classes start. It's the last first day of high school.

Syd started 8th grade today. She went to school yesterday as an 8th grade ambassador to help out the new 6th graders in the school for their first day. She is very excited to see classmates and meet her teachers. It's the last first day of middle school. 

Summer Jobs

 Both Colin and Syd spent some of their summer time earning some mullah. 

Colin continued to work as a cashier at Scheel's. He also worked as a camp counselor for Adventures in Cardboard for 6 weeks. It took some logistical planning and ride sharing since he was assigned to camp sites around the cities. 

Colin is the tallest mech with the sword. 

Syd had her first job mowing a neighbor's lawn each week. She liked having the time to listen to her playlist while mowing. 

Cedar Point 2025

 Spent another crazy three days at Cedar Point. There were 2 new coasters open this year, Siren's Curse and Top Thrill 2. Syd and I noped the TT2 since went backwards as fast as forward even though I rode the original with Bill years ago. The boys rode it several times.

Siren's Curse has had a lot of social media attention for getting stuck before the pivot. We lucked out all the times we rode it without issue. It's not as tall as the other coasters and because it's new, it was a very smooth ride. 

It rained for a few hours the last day. We waited it out with a nap and watching an 80's rock show. Then we hit more rides before heading out of the park. 

July 4 and Lake Week 2025

 Bill, Colin and Syd head to Ohio for the Fourth of July party at Uncle Joe and Aunt Laurie's. Aunt Rose always makes a spectacular pinata that all the grandkids take turns hitting. Since it was 'Grandma Camp' week, a lot of the Weiher cousins were able to go and they all returned with a heaping amount of candy. 

Lake week had great weather aside from one rainy day. 

A Dairy Bar visit, tubing, spoons competition, Jackbox, smores and lots of time on the swim platform rounded out the week.
