Ice Castles 2016

This was the 2nd year for the Ice Castles in Eden Prairie. Nana and Papa Guitar took Colin for some icy fun. There was even a slide made of ice. The artists use blocks of ice, lights, and spray water to create the frozen effects.

Sydisms

Sydney's preschool class has a quote of the day chalk board. At least once a week, she has something to say. We've included several for the blog.

Kid Activities

Colin is still very involved in EP lacrosse and has recruited a few friends to the game. He also took some snow boarding lessons this winter and decided he liked it.

Sydney started ballet classes this winter. She looked adorable and was always twirling around all week in between lessons. Then, like her other group activities, the fun wore off and she's not that into going. She likes to be the center of attention and in a group setting that is hard. And she's not a fan of the pony tail. So, we have two lessons left and she doesn't want to go. Last lesson, the teacher asked her to leave the room since she didn't want to participate. This mamma's so proud. Thinking maybe soccer next time and she can just run around.

Happy 8th Birthday!

Celebrated Colin's 8th birthday at Jake and Shya's house in between Super Bowl commercials. A Star Wars themed party, he was happy to receive the Kylo Ren lego figure, several Star Wars themed gifts, and a Target gift card to buy Pokemon cards - which are big ...again.

Then we had left over cake and ice cream on his birthday where he got to open more gifts from Weiher family members including several Star Wars t-shirts that he wears every day.

Colin really wanted a big friends birthday party at Adventure Peak since he didn't have one last year. Not sure if you can tell from the photos, but Colin ended up spending the last half hour of his party in Shannon's lap, exhausted. Ended up that he had strep and a strep rash developed. Oops!

Colin was actually embarrassed because his friends were SCREAMING "Happy Birthday!"

Sledding

A beautiful day to go sledding with AJ, Kelly and Lexi and Lucas visiting from San Antonio for Christmas.

I can't believe they are going to be 8,7, 5 and 4 all in the first half of 2016!

Reindeer

Who doesn't love to get their face painted? These were pretty talented elves at Santa's "sleigh house" as Sydney called it. CP and Syd went with Nana and Papa Guitar to a holiday activity near our house. The kids' enjoyed cookies, coloring, and face painting. There was a 2 hr wait to see Santa. Fortunately, they'd already seen Santa at our Preserve event, and according to CP, he's the real one.

All the World's a Stage

Class pictures were coming up for Sydney's Pre K group. So, of course, she wanted to make a red crown to wear.

I appreciate the photographer allowing a few shots with the crown and some without.
