Pool

During an afternoon bike ride, Syd and I noticed no one was at the Preserve pool. We sped home and grabbed Colin and the towels. The kids enjoyed swimming by themselves for over an hour before anyone else showed up.  They felt a little weird being there with no one but the life guard. I said you get to enjoy all of the pool! We left as soon as a few other families arrived.

Backyard Camping

The kids were excited to put up the tent for an attempt to sleep outside all night. They gathered all their essentials: sleeping bags, pillows, umpteen stuffed animals, a deck of cards, UNO, their colored pencils and paper, and a lantern.

Bill gets the dad award for staying out there with them. No one slept all that well, but they made it through the night. Hopefully, we can convince them to nap later today.

The First Crop

This dandy was the first tomato and we weren't sure it was going to make it as it split early before recovering. We're learning a lot about what works and what doesn't with container grown tomatoes. Like, we probably need bigger containers.

Virtual Drum Set Camp

We were happy to see a summer camp option for CP. The drum set camp he attended last year, hosted by the middle school music teacher, offered a virtual week long camp. The camp combined all of its in person weeks into one virtual camp with multiple instructors. Colin had a great time "meeting up" with the other kids and adults in the camp. And, he was sad to see it end on Friday. They did ask in the survey if there was interest in a short fall camp -he gave a hearty 'yes'!

Mocking

Now that we have two hammocks, Colin and Syd are flipping around and creating feats of strength games. There has been only a few head first landings on the ground.

Enjoying the Rain

These two love splashing in the puddles. They grabbed some items to float down the curbs in some wacky races.

Twister

These two dug out the Twister game. I did some calling Left Hand Red, but when I was tired, they used the Twister App to call the game.
