Another Pandemic Birthday Party

Sydney was excited to be turning 9 years old. Instead of the birthday dinner, she requested chocolate chip pancakes from Original Pancake House.

As she had hoped, Sydney received a stuffed octopus (Jerry), a fancy watch with lots of button, and cash-money!

She was still able to blow out all her candles at once.

Sydney wanted the ice cream cake to read "Happy Tiger Birthday."
I guess the icing person didn't quite understand the unique request.

Family birthday fun at the park.

Bathtime

I believe the dog has some seasonal allergies with itchy ears, eyes and skin. Sydney and I made a homemade recipe with oatmeal, baking soda and lavender oil. Then, we braved the "storm" and put Milo in the tub. He did okay. He didn't shake until he was out of the tub. The oatmeal bath seemed to help - at least for a while, and no drying of his skin. He smells better, too!

The shower wand is a must have!

He's so fluffy!

Ortho Consult

At her last dental appointment, Syd's dentist said it was time to have her cross bite looked at by an orthodontist. We are entering that phase of dental insurance and scheduling many ortho appointments...in phases! Syd's missing her 12 year molars for some odd reason, but does have wisdom teeth, per her x-rays. She's excited for her ortho consult...for now.

This Place is a Zoo!

We took advantage of a lovely March day to visit the Como Zoo. It's a city zoo and with Covid 19, it was a bit strange to have everything closed except the path to see the animals in their smallish habitats. The kids had a great time taking pictures with their cameras and comparing their favorite animals. One of my happy places was the conservatory with it's humid and bright dome and wonderful plants.

Winter forts

Sydney is perfecting her fort construction. The latest that was up for more than a week resembled a yurt with comfy bedding and blankets. Even Milo would escape in there and take a nap.

St. Paul Winter Carnival

It's usually just cold and a bit of a haul to go to the Winter Carnival, but for a few $ for fundraising and a stay-in-the-car viewing of the ice and snow sculptures, we decided to venture out this year. It was in the negative digits with a nice winter sun - great for viewing the ice sculptures. The kids had a bingo card to fill out along the ride. The fan favorite was of course the Mandalorian and Child.
