First Day of School 2021

Sooo, we're going to try going in person for as long as possible...with masks. K-5 masks are required throughout the school. Middle and high school has masks recommended for students and required for staff.

Sydney was so happy to be getting on the bus and start 4th grade. She and Tasha hopped on and sat together eager to begin the year.

Colin was waaay less eager to go back to school, a new school, 8th grade middle school, with new schedules and lots of unknowns. But he handled it really well and I think got some sleep the night before.

Doggie Paddle

The Preserve used its last day before draining the pool to invite the neighborhood pups for a swim.

We decided to try it since Milo is enjoying destroying his kiddie pool. Walking him to the pool, he was excited to get in and great a few of the dogs.

Then a hoard of pups arrived and the barking and mayhem were a bit much for him and he was ready to go home.

A good first effort out in a group, however.

Go Bucks!

We braved the pandemic (seriously, we were probably only a dozen people wearing masks in the stadium!) to watch the Buckeyes beat the Gophers. Uncle John and Aunt Kathy came up from Cbus to attend the game with Nana, Papa and Anita. The kids were excited and were happy to cheer for the Scarlet and Gray (and a little bit for the Maroon and Gold who did pretty well considering).

It rained off and on. I was glad it wasn't any colder that in the 60s or we would have had to leave early.

Brule 2021

So thankful Nana and Papa could take Colin, Sydney and Lexi for a weekend at the Brule. And, Bill and I could stay home and not worry about traveling with the dog.

Lexi was there one other time when she was a tot, so she didn't remember it.

Checking on Indian Joe

The water was a wee chilly

Some relaxing screen time?

Covid Fro No More

Colin was (sort of) ready to cut his hair. Friends of Nana's had us over to swim and Chantelle helped shape his look. It was a bit of a shock to his system. He said his head felt cold. Haha.

Sydney was also ready and had several inches cut off and her hair really thinned out to help with the knots.

Lake Week for 2 Weeks

A crowded, but fun first time back at the lake to see family and sooo many cousins! The weather was a bit cool and rainy. The kids got creative and crafty. They even made a cafe in one of the bedrooms and encouraged everyone to ‘spread the word’ to come shopping.

The weather the second week improved and Colin, Sydney and Zoe spent a lot of time tubing off ZuZu. Nana Mary found a Upick lavender farm and we all cut some fresh gladiolus.

Happy 4th!

Tippie's had great weather to host the family at their house for food, pool time and fireworks.

The cousins only tried to drown each other once.
Papa Rick went a little nuts over the firework selections.
They were almost as tall as AJ.
