Other Colinisms

We've been discussing babies a lot lately with the addition of cousin Lucas and some new siblings with his penguin classmates. Colin is now talking about his sister and brother, Danica and Danica Patrick, and what they like to play with and things they do as babies. (Obviously, there is a NASCAR influence in our household.)

"Mom, what are those scratches on your body?"
"Thanks for pointing out my stretch marks, Colin, from when I carried you in my belly."

Everything that happened in the past was described as something from 'yesterday', now he's been saying it happened "when I was a baby...we did this, or I had that toy."

We have to hide from the Blumps! They are scary noises, and we cover our heads with Blankey-B!

Tokyo Drift

This took only a few assists to get it on his own. Bill is still dreaming of quarter midgets this summer!

A Superhero Kind of Day

While areas to the north saw snow, we had a gray and on/off rainy Sunday. That meant we were rolling with the creative wagon Colin was driving. After his nap, he wanted to be several superheros good and bad.

This is Obadiah in the black Iron Man suit. (Oh yes, of course, I see.)

Now he's Lightening McQueen superhero.

Last, but not least, what we dubbed the Polish Robot.

CP at 3

At the doctor's office, Colin was 31.5 lbs and 37 inches (I think that's the 48 percentile). He received a "poke" in the thigh that he didn't like and has been milking that injury for a few days.

Colinisms:
"Mom, we get dressed, then we play for 5 minutes (always 5 min), that's the deal...capisci?"

"My legs don't work, I can't walk, carry me!"

He's into Cars the movie, Buzz Lightyear and Dash from the Incredibles.

Monsters are red, orange and yellow.

His favorite color now is green. It use to be yellow.

He continually wipes his mouth and cheek and has chapped lips all winter long. Aquaphor to the rescue. He does this weird tic where he rubs his head, ears and eyes. We're not sure if it's a skin allergy that may have morphed into a tic or what...we are monitoring.

He loves music and dancing at school.

He's great at jigsaw puzzles. Once he learns one once, he can put it back together in a flash.

For the most part, Colin is potty trained. We still use a nighttime diaper (mommy doesn't want to wake up in the middle of the night to change the sheets yet), and we're working on making #2's less scary.

Happy 3rd Birthday!

We enjoyed a houseful+ of people for Colin's 3rd birthday. Thanks everyone for coming to town to make it a lot of fun for CP -and us!

Friday night we enjoyed a Mexican celebration with both sets of grandparents, Aunt Kathy, Uncle John and a sombrero! I think Colin's ears might be holding up the hat.

Colin enjoyed showing off his bounce-house skillz with play pal Audrey at the play cafe place by our house. I sort of felt bad for the owner as we had 2 kids and around 10 adults. We took over the place!
Kathy and John hosted the crowd at their house again this year! Guest list included: Kathy, John, Mitch and Will; Anita, Paul, KC, Jenny and Gaby; Nana Sheila and Papa Guitar; Nana Mary and Papa Beard; Jen, Paul, Justis and Zoe! Colin misses his cousin Zoe. And Uncle Russ via Verizon.
